Friday Check In 8 May 2020
After almost two months of sheltering in place, it appears that many parts of the country are about to open back up. One thing I noticed with the slow pace the last few months is that my family’s spending has dropped off.
That got me thinking about spending and happiness. In particular, it reminded me of a book I read several years ago called Happy Money (The Science of Smarter Spending). As we prepare to fall back into prior habit patterns now is a good time to reevaluate if some of the recent changes are worth keeping.
One of the authors of Happy Money, Michael Norton gave a TED talk several years ago about how to buy happiness. His research may not be what you think and it is worth watching.
Have a great weekend,
Jeremy
